4.ECPI Curriculum
The curriculum for the ECPI Medical Assistant program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in this rapidly growing field. The program focuses on both the clinical and administrative aspects of medical assisting, and provides students with a comprehensive education that prepares them for a variety of positions in healthcare settings.
The curriculum includes coursework in anatomy and physiology, Medical Terminology insurance billing and coding, office procedures, patient relations, and more. Students also gain hands-on experience through externships at local healthcare facilities, where they put their knowledge into practice under the supervision of experienced professionals.

6.ECPI Clinical Experience
In order to ensure that our students gain the necessary skills to work in a wide variety of medical settings, the ECPI Medical Assistant program offers a clinical externship experience. This allows students to receive on-the-job training in a real-world medical setting, under the supervision of a licensed health care professional.
The externship experience is an important component of the ECPI Medical Assistant program, as it gives students the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their coursework. Furthermore, the externship gives students a chance to explore different aspects of the medical field and to find out which areas they are most interested in pursuing.
All ECPI Medical Assistant students are required to complete a clinical externship as a part of their program. Students can find externship opportunities through the ECPI Career Services office, or they may secure their own placement with the approval of the Program Director. Clinical externships are typically completed during the last semester of study in the program.
