Introduction

Mountain View High School will offer a non-credit certified medical assistant program in the fall of 2019. This program is open to any Mountain View student who is interested in a career in the medical field. The course will include classroom instruction and hands-on experience in a variety of medical settings, and will prepare students for the Certified Medical Assistant exam.

A medical assistant is a health care professional who performs a variety of tasks in a medical office or clinic. They may take medical histories, assist with examination procedures, give vaccinations, help patients understand their treatment options, and provide support and instructions for follow-up care.
