The Program is a two-year program that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to become a medical assistant. Upon completion of the program, students will be eligible to take the American Association of Medical assistants Certification Exam to become a certified medical assistant.
What You Will Learn
In the Ivy Tech Medical Assisting program, you will learn basic patient care, administrative office procedures, and clinical procedures. The administrative office portion of the curriculum will prepare you to work in a medical office setting. You will learn how to schedule appointments, submit insurance claims, and perform other essential tasks. The clinical portion of the curriculum will prepare you to work in a hospital or other healthcare facility. You will learn how to take medical histories, administer injections, take vital signs, and perform other essential tasks.
