If you live in Pennsylvania, you may be eligible for Gateway Medical Assistance, also known as Medicaid. Medicaid is a government-funded health insurance program that provides free or low-cost coverage to eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, people with disabilities and senior citizens.

Gateway Medical Assistance can help you pay for doctor’s visits, prescriptions, hospitalization, mental health services, dental care and more. If you are eligible for Medicaid, you will not have to pay any premiums or cost-sharing for your coverage.

To see if you are eligible for Medicaid in Pennsylvania, visit the Gateway to Health Care website. You can also call the Medicaid Customer Service Center at 1-800-311-2237 to speak to a customer service representative.

How Gateway Medical Assistance Works

Gateway Medical Assistance is a program that provides financial assistance to low-income Pennsylvania residents who need help paying for health care. The program is funded by the state and federal government, and is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Gateway Medical Assistance is available to residents of Pennsylvania who meet the following criteria:
-Have an annual income that is at or below 138% of the federal poverty level
-Are not eligible for Medicaid or another government health insurance program
-Do not have access to private health insurance

If you qualify for Gateway Medical Assistance, you will be enrolled in a managed care plan. This means that you will receive your health care services from a plan that contract with the state to provide these services. You will be able to choose from a list of available plans, and you can change your plan at any time.

You will also be responsible for paying a monthly premium for your coverage, as well as any copayments or coinsurance that may be required for your medical services.

How to Use Gateway Medical Assistance

If you need help paying for medical care, you may be able to get assistance from the state of Pennsylvania through Gateway Medical Assistance (GMA). GMA is a program that helps eligible low-income residents pay for health care.

To see if you qualify for GMA, you can contact your local county assistance office or complete an online application. You will need to provide information about your income, assets, and family size.

If you qualify for GMA, you will be enrolled in one of two programs: Medical Assistance only or Medical Assistance with a sliding fee scale. Medical Assistance only provides coverage for medical care. Medical Assistance with a sliding fee scale also provides coverage for medical care, but it also offers discounts on some services based on your income.

You can use your GMA benefits to pay for a wide range of medical services, including doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs, dental care, and more. You can also use your benefits to get preventive care services, such as immunizations and screenings.
