How Gateway Medical Assistance Works

Gateway Medical Assistance is a program that provides financial assistance to low-income Pennsylvania residents who need help paying for health care. The program is funded by the state and federal government, and is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Gateway Medical Assistance is available to residents of Pennsylvania who meet the following criteria:
-Have an annual income that is at or below 138% of the federal poverty level
-Are not eligible for Medicaid or another government health insurance program

To enroll in Gateway Medical Assistance, you will need to provide:
-Your Social Security number

-Proof of any income you receive
-Proof of any resources you own, such as bank accounts, real estate, and vehicles

How to Use Gateway Medical Assistance

If you need help paying for medical care, you may be able to get assistance from the state of Pennsylvania through Gateway Medical Assistance (GMA). GMA is a program that helps eligible low-income residents pay for health care.
