American Medical Technologists (AMT) is a not-for-profit professional membership association of allied health professionals. The organization’s more than 75,000 members include Medical Assistants phlebotomy technicians, dental assistants, and other allied health professionals.

AMT was founded in 1939 as the American Society of Medical Assistants (ASMA), and today we are still the largest not-for-profit professional membership organization of allied health professionals in the United States AMT is headquartered in northwest suburban Chicago.
