The School for Medical Administrative Assistants Admissions Process

We are excited that you are interested in attending the School for Medical Administrative Assistants! Here is some general information about our admissions process.

The School for Medical Administrative Assistants offers a 36-week program that prepares students for a career in the medical administrative field. The program consists of classroom instruction, as well as an externship component.

We accept applications on a rolling basis, and students can begin the program at any of our five start dates throughout the year. To be considered for admission, applicants must submit a completed application, along with transcripts from all previous college coursework.

Upon receipt of your application and transcripts, our admissions team will review your materials and determine if you meet the minimum eligibility requirements for admission. If you meet the requirements, you will be contacted to schedule an interview with one of our admissions counselors. The interview is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and for you to ask any questions you may have about the program or our school.

After your interview, our admissions team will review your file again and make a decision about your admission to the program. You will be notified of our decision via mail within two weeks of your interview date.

The School for Medical Administrative Assistants Financial Aid

The School for Medical Administrative Assistants (SMAA) is committed to helping its students finance their education. We understand that paying for school can be a challenge, so we offer a variety of financial aid options to help our students meet their educational expenses.

One of the first steps in the financial aid process is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is used to determine your eligibility for federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs. We encourage all of our students to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1st of each year.

Once your FAFSA has been processed, you will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR will contain your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is used to determine your eligibility for financial aid. If you have any questions about your SAR or EFC, please contact our office and we will be happy to help you.

After we have received your FAFSA and SAR, we will create a financial aid package for you. This package may include federal grants, loans, and/or work-study opportunities. If you have any questions about your financial aid package, please contact our office and we will be happy to help you.

The School for Medical Administrative Assistants Student Life

The School for Medical Administrative Assistants is a private, for-profit career school that focuses on training students to work in medical offices. The school is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota. The campus is within walking distance of many hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities.

The school offers an Associate of Applied Science degree in medical administrative assistant. The program takes six quarters to complete and includes coursework in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, office procedures, insurance billing and coding, and computer applications.

Students who complete the program are prepared to take the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Upon passing the exam, students receive a certified professional designation that can be added to their resumes.
