The curriculum and what you’ll learn
Our Medical Assisting program will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform a variety of administrative and clinical tasks in a medical office. The curriculum is designed to give you a comprehensive understanding of Medical Terminology office procedures, insurance billing and coding, anatomy and physiology, and medical law and ethics. You’ll also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in our on-campus clinic.

Medical assistants are often the first point of contact for patients. They greeted patients, schedule appointments, and provide information about the practice. Medical assistants also take medical histories, measure vital signs, prepare patients for examination, and assist during examinations. They may also give injections, perform EKGs, remove stitches, dress wounds, and help with minor office surgery. In addition, medical assistants may schedule laboratory tests and x-rays, instruct patients on taking medications and special diets, and prepare insurance forms.

The admissions process
CCC’s Medical Assisting program is a two-year program that prepares students for a career in medical assisting. The admissions process for the program is competitive, and students must meet the following criteria:
-Be a high school graduate or have a GED
-Complete the CCCC Application for Admission
-Submit official high school and/or college transcripts
-Submit ACT or SAT scores
-Submit a copy of your photo ID
-Complete an interview with the Medical Assisting Program Director
Financial aid and tuition costs
CCCC’s Medical Assisting Program is an affordable way to train for a new career in the medical field. Financial aid is available for those who qualify, and tuition costs are very reasonable. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), and the curriculum meets the standards set by the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
