What is Financial Assistance?
Financial assistance is defined as the hospital’s policy of providing free or reduced-priced care to patients who demonstrate a financial need.
To determine if you are eligible for financial assistance, OU Medical Center will review your family size and income. The amount of assistance you may receive is based on a sliding scale and is calculated using the Federal Poverty Level (FPL).

Applying for Financial Assistance
If you are unable to pay your OU Medical Center bill in full, we offer several options to assist you. Please note that our financial assistance policy does not cover elective procedures.
OU Medical Center offers two types of financial assistance:
Charity care is available for patients who meet certain income guidelines and who have no other means of payment.
Discounts are available for patients who do not qualify for charity care, but who still demonstrate financial need.
