What is financial assistance?

UW Medicine is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. To help meet this commitment, we offer a financial assistance program for qualifying patients who are unable to pay their medical bills

Financial assistance is available for both uncompensated care (care that is not covered by insurance or other sources of payment) and undercompensated care (care that is only partially covered by insurance or other sources of payment). To qualify for financial assistance, patients must demonstrate a financial need based on their household income and size.

UW Medicine’s financial assistance program is designed to make sure that our patients can focus on their health and well-being, without worrying about how they will pay for their medical care. For more information about financial assistance, please call our Customer Service team at 206-543-7262.
